The Aura Extractor is one of Sandustry's special machines, grouped in the official wiki's "Special" buildings category alongside the Flux Emanator. Beyond that, documentation is thin — the official wiki does not yet have a dedicated page for it, so this is a working draft.

What we know

  • The official wiki places the Aura Extractor in the Special buildings category, which also contains the Flux Emanator — the machine that converts Voidbloom into fluxite.
  • "Unlock Aura Extraction" is an Xbox/Steam achievement worth 70 Gamerscore. Its full description reads: "Unlock Aura Extraction through the Swarm Console."
  • A second achievement, "Full Circle" (80 Gamerscore), reads "Fill the whole Aura circle so the next factory tier becomes available."

The Aura system (from achievements & community guides)

Putting the two achievements together, the Aura system works like this:

  1. Unlock it via the Swarm Console — Aura Extraction is unlocked through the game's Swarm Console, not a standard research tree.
  2. Aura is a circle — the machine works by filling an Aura circle.
  3. A full circle opens the next factory tier — filling the whole Aura circle unlocks the next tier of factory technology.

Community progression guides describe Aura Extraction as the step you reach after advancing through Energy and factory technologies, until it can be incorporated into your production network. Only about 23.5% of Steam players have unlocked Aura Extraction so far, so it is a late-game system.

Note: an earlier version of this page linked the Aura Extractor to a resource called "Auralite Crystal". The official wiki has no content for Auralite yet, and the achievement data suggests Aura is a circle / factory tier mechanic rather than a mineral. Treat any Auralite connection as unconfirmed.

What we still need to confirm

  • The exact inputs and outputs of the Aura Extractor.
  • How the Aura circle is filled — what you feed it.
  • Whether a separate "Auralite Crystal" resource exists at all.
